Live stations change the energy of any event. Instead of food sitting in chafing dishes, your guests watch it being made right in front of them. The queue becomes a conversation. The cooking becomes a show. And the food arrives fresh, hot, and exactly how they want it.
At Sofnade, we run halal live stations across Singapore every week, for corporate events, weddings, school celebrations, and community gatherings. Everything on our menu is MUIS halal certified and SFA licensed. Here are the live station ideas that work best, based on what our clients book the most.
Savoury Live Stations
Nyonya Laksa Live Station
This is our signature. We prepare our own laksa paste from scratch using a traditional mortar for every individual order. Each bowl is served piping hot in a 390ml bowl with half an egg, tau pok, beansprouts, fish cake, prawns, and our housemade sambal chilli. The aroma alone fills the room and draws a queue before you even announce it’s ready.
We recently ran this station for 700 guests at a corporate event at Singapore General Hospital, and every bowl went out fresh.
Best for: Corporate lunches, D&Ds, community events
Grilled Satay Live Station
Beef, chicken, or mutton, three sticks per person, served with cucumber, onions, ketupat, and our fragrant peanut sauce. The charcoal grill is the centrepiece. Guests smell it before they see it.
Best for: Weddings, festive events, outdoor gatherings
Popiah Live Station
Thin rice flour skin filled with housemade stir-fried turnip, lettuce, beansprouts, crushed peanuts, minced hard-boiled egg, sweet sauce, and garlic. Chilli optional. Each roll is wrapped fresh and cut into four pieces. There’s real craftsmanship in the wrap, and watching it happen is half the experience.
Best for: Afternoon events, wedding receptions, corporate tea breaks
Roti Kirai with Chicken Curry
Soft, fluffy roti kirai served with chicken curry and potato. Two pieces of roti and two to three pieces of chicken per person. This is comfort food at its best, and it always goes fast.
Best for: Community events, festive celebrations, casual corporate events
Sweet Live Stations
Soft-Serve Ice Cream Live Station
We carry eight flavours: Chendol, Thai Mango, Bubble Milk Tea, Earl Grey Milk Tea, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Strawberry Lemonade, and Frozen Yoghurt. Each event picks one flavour per 200 guests, and then there are five toppings to choose from: crushed nuts, toasted cornflakes, rainbow or chocolate sprinkles, Nutella or caramel sauce, plus flavour-specific options like chendol jelly or fresh fruits.
This is our most versatile station. We run it at corporate events, weddings, school events, and it always gets a queue. At a recent wedding at SAF Yacht Club, we served 300 chocolate soft-serves and ran through them before the event ended.
Pandan Traditional Bakery Waffles
Freshly made with real pandan leaf extract and served with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or maple syrup. The waffle iron sizzle and the pandan aroma pull people in. Simple, nostalgic, and always a crowd favourite.
Best for: Corporate breakfasts, school events, casual celebrations
Mini Traditional Malay Kueh
A selection including putu ayu (steamed live), rainbow kueh lapis, kueh salat, kueh ubi kayu, ondeh ondeh, and kueh kao swee. Three pieces per person. This station brings a traditional touch that pairs beautifully with more modern options.
Best for: Weddings, Hari Raya celebrations, community events
Drinks Live Stations
Bubble Tea Live Station
Three flavours and three toppings, with customisable sugar levels from 0% to 100%. All drinks are prepared in our kitchen and dispensed fresh on the spot. Guests choose their own flavour, topping, and sweetness. The personalisation is what makes this station so engaging, and people love comparing cups.
Best for: Weddings, corporate events, school celebrations
Traditional Hot Drinks Live Station
Kopi Siew Dai, Teh C, Milo Ga Dai… every cup made to order, just like the kopitiam. This is a drinks live station that taps into something deeper than just a beverage. It’s familiar, personal, and it gets people talking.
Best for: Corporate breakfasts, Singaporean-themed events
How to Choose the Right Live Stations for Your Event
A good rule of thumb: pick one savoury, one sweet, and one drink station. That gives your guests variety without overwhelming the space. For larger events (200+ guests), consider adding a fourth station or pairing live stations with a self-serve buffet spread.
Every live station on our menu is halal certified by MUIS and comes with dedicated service staff, all equipment and logistics, and a rustic floral setup that looks great in photos.
